When I take the digits on a keyboard to resemble letters, I see (which may not be what the kid's l33t speak translates):

1 = I
2 = Z
3 = E
4 = A
5 = S
6,9 = G,g
7 = T
8 = B
0 = O

Or to sum up, nine different letters:
I, Z, E, A, S, G, T, B, O

How many six letter English words can you make with them (no plurals, no repeating a letter)?

[Edit: I've found four so far.]
[m03m found a fifth.]
[n8an found a sixth.]
Must be something to having a number in your LJ name.

Yep. That was my first one as well.

It reminds me of a Knights of the Dinner Table comic strip where the gang was playing a role-playing tabletop game. The gamemaster described the countryside where there was a house with a gazebo standing next to it. The players immediately and stubbornly determined to attack the gazebo after it refused to speak to them. The gamemaster tried to get the game back on track but it only worked once he let the players hack and burn the gazebo to the ground.

No six letter ones there, but thanks for trying.

Four have been found so far but I'll reveal them after people have had a chance.

I can only find stogie. Which I'm not even sure is a word. My brain is dead this morning, because anagrams is ordinarily one of my favorite games.

Why, BITSEA, of course.
That means a very large amount of data.

Ok. After checking my dictionary, I confirm BIOGAS, but have to rule out BITSEA for now. Maybe a more up-to-date version will settle it.

I'll be honest with you: I wasn't completely serious about that one. Hence the smiley.
Was BIOGAS among your original four?

No but if you check the complete comments, you'll see n8an got the other two and even added one.

You got the other two I had with EGOIST and AGEIST but I disqualify the plurals. I think SOBEIT works better as a phrase than a single word but http://dictionary.reference.com/ disagrees with me. Congrats.

I cheated (used anagram artist) to find all of 'em seeing the obvious one listed that I found. I figured that it was late enough now from you posting this that I could do that:

gazebo
baizes
zibets
biogas
bigots
gobies
tobies
egoist
stogie

So, it looks like there are nine six-letter words.

Of course, there may be more that AA doesn't recognize as words. It was still cool to see what it said, though.
